Our Facilities

about

Our Crèche and Infants classrooms

Our Crèche and Infants classrooms are spaciously designed to ensure safety and security that enables each infant to be on his/her own schedule. Variations exist where spaces provide greater options for children; such as a quiet and sleeping area, and an active play area where learning aids and toys are accessible on open shelves. There are spatial and visual connections between sleep area and infant’s play area for efficient and effective supervision.

Our Nursery and Toddler classrooms

Our Nursery and Toddler classrooms are designed to encourage and support independence, while strengthening social skills. Materials and developmentally-appropriate toys are easily accessible on open shelves. Toddlers are busy children, so enough spaces have been provided to enable them move and experiment with a variety of toys and equipment. We have designated areas such as a quiet area for resting, a cognitive with role- playing area and a book corner.

Primary classrooms

Our primary school follow a similar design as that of the preschool. The classrooms are designed for children to engage in either large or small group activities while further enhancing ever-growing independence and self-help skills. There is a formal whiteboard area with well-defined furniture and equipment placement for teaching and learning, there is also a socialisation area, a technology area and distinct learning areas for science, mathematics, arts and other subject areas linked to our primary curricular.

Our Special Needs & Disabilities classrooms

Special education is for children who have challenges or disabilities that can interfere with their learning. Normally, children who meet this criterion have needs that require special provisions to be made available for them in their classrooms. Learning environments, teaching approaches, and curricula are all adapted and incorporated into their IEP to support them. The SEN unit at Little Haven is therefore not a classroom for a group, but a unit that manages children with Special Educational Needs. Therefore depending on the age of a child, such a child joins any of the mainstream classes with their assigned SEN teacher to engage in a differentiated activity pertinent to their IEP, then back to their unit for schedules that may involve a one to one program.

The schools Library and Resource room

The schools Library and Resource room offers a wide variety of both fictional and informational texts to children, parents and educators. Our collection includes kids’ audio books, videos, children’s reading books, picture books, music CDs and rhymes. The library also has resource materials that can be used by classroom teachers to support their teaching. To encourage children to engage and enjoy reading, the interior of the library has been designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable environment for children.

Our school has a well , equipped kitchen manned by well trained staff that serves fresh- home cooked meals for our children. The kitchen is a child- restricted area; and designed as a full on-site food preparation area for meals and snacks. Bus Service

Little Haven School has buses that take children to and from school. We know there will be circumstances when parents and guardians may not have the means or be able to transport kids to and from school; and therefore this facility serves as the means to support parents and children with their transportation challenges. As an inclusive school, this facility is also important as it helps build socialising skills among SEN and mainstream children. Our buses are moderately new and equipped with security features to help transport children safely to and from school.

Play Ground

At little Haven, we believe that play is very important in the learning-life of a child. Children learn through play and therefore our playgrounds have been meticulously designed to give the best experience to any child that enters our playground. There are various activities a child can engage in and through play, children of all ages lean to socialise and build better relationships with their peers and to teachers also.
